Jeremy Berry String Masterclass- July 7th at 1pm Whatcom Community College

The Harmony Chamber Music Festival is delighted to announce a free masterclass with Calidore String Quartet violist, Jeremy Berry on Monday, July 7th at 1pm in Heiner Theatre at Whatcom Community College. Jeremy will be working with violinist Elsa Jonson and violist Declan Hong, two winners of the James Quist Award with the Harmony Chamber Music Festival this past May. The event is free and open to the public.

Violinist Elsa Jonson is a junior Running Start student at WCC who has won many awards on both strings and piano. She plays with the Bellingham Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Days, Marrowstone and the Bellingham Youth Chamber Players. Elsa studies with Lisa Humphrey, Dawn Posey, and Dr. Kay Zavislak.

Violist Declan Hong is a rising sophomore from Anacortes High School who has been honored with numerous awards on oboe, viola and piano. Declan is also an avid composer and arranger and has his works performed by the Fidalgo Youth Symphony and the Anacortes High School Bands. Declan studies with Lisa Humphrey, Jennifer Weeks, and Dr. Judith Widrig.

Don’t miss the Calidore’s performance for the Bellingham Festival of Music on Tuesday, July 8th at 7:30pm at WWU PAC. . Tickets are still available.
